Frank Onisko

Frank Onisko, age 96 and formally of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Monday, October 26, 2015 at Defiance Hospice Center. He was born in Toledo on September 23, 1919 to John P. and Frances Onisko. Frank was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, serving in WW II. He was employed with GM Powertrain, formally Hydromatic as a machine operator for 33 years, retiring in 1976. Frank enjoyed gardening and especially farming along with his chickens. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Geraldine Doddie Onisko, son, Frank Onisko Jr., siblings, Anna Gove, Mary Warren, Pauline Browne, Alice Publiski and John S. Onisko. Frank is survived by his daughters, Edith Smith and Nancy Lake, brother, Mitchell Onisko, grandchildren, Patricia Smith, Machelle Ramirez, Ronald Lake, Barbara (Tony) Sosbe along with several great grandchildren, great, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.. Visitation for Frank will be at H. H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Rd. Toledo (419-473-1301) on Friday, October 30 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral service will be Saturday at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors.
