He worked over forty years in the grocery business for Bellmans grocery, Big Bear grocery, Foodtown Supermarkets, Mereks grocery and Chatham Supermarkets. The friends he made during his working years are treasured memories. Those friends served as family during the long hours they worked together. He enjoyed many of his friends baseball games after work and on weekends. He relished the hunting trips with his work friends also. He retired in 1983. Way to go Dad! We should all have 37 years of retirement! He met the late Mary Jo Moore in 1952. They married in 1954. Their three children are Terry, Toni and Dennis. They have fourteen Grandchildren and fourteen Great-Grandchildren. Forest spent every Fall season cheering for his Michigan football team. He was a season ticket-holder for over thirty years. He became friends with those he met at game day parking, tailgating and those he sat around. The stadium staff greeted him warmly as he entered the stadium gate and again at section 34. He also attended Rose and Outback bowl games. He was the ultimate giver, a loyal man, a great Dad, Grandpa and Great grandpa, a friend to all that took the time to know him. Those that disagreed with Foresthe simply let them go on their way. Whether it be over politics, religion or football. He said, there was just no helping some people. He was asked shortly before his passing, what he thought heaven would be likehe said without hesitation and with much gladness, BEAUTIFUL. We went on to talk about who he was looking forward to seeing in heaven. He said, some people will be looking for me. We said, really? He said, yea, they have been waiting to get even with me. We chuckled! Forest touched many peoples lives. He will be greatly missed and greatly cherished for all he did for others. Visitation will be at H.H.
