Florence Rose

November 16, 1928 — April 30, 2021

Florence Emily RoseNever has there ever been a kinder, more generous woman than Florence Emily (Bomia) Rose. Anyone who knew her was blessed to have such a beautiful soul in their life. To many she was Floss or Flossie, to some she was Florence, but to the luckiest she was Aunt Flossie. She never had any children of her own, but her twin sisters children very much were her own, and all the children that followed. She spoiled them every chance she got, especially holidays and birthdays. She was never without a smile on her face and a kind word. She loved to laugh, she loved to experience new things, she loved to make people happy. You could often find her at the bowling alley or the VFW Post. She absolutely loved baseball and was a Tigers fan all of her life. She enjoyed going to Mud Hens games and having a beer. She loved to play cards and go fishing, and she made new friends doing all those things. Youve never seen a woman with more friends!! A few of her best friends were Linda, Pat and Kathy, which were like family to her. She was a Christian woman and almost always had an angel pin on her collar. She loved her husband of 72 years, dearly. Together they shared many dogs (very spoiled dogs!) and birds. They had a beautiful life.Florence Emily (Bomia) Rose of Toledo was born November 16, 1928 alongside her twin sister, Frances Rose (Bomia) Rose. She was married on December 8, 1949 to James Albert Rose, who was waiting for her in heaven! Preceding her in death are her parents, Daniel and Lois (Plumb) Bomia; her brother Muriel Leroy Bomia; her sisters, Emily Jane (Bomia) Fisher-Lamontagne and Frances Rose (Bomia) Rose; many brother and sister in laws; many friends. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews, most of which would consider themselves honorary children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many friends including her friends from bowling; her friends from VFW Post 606; Charna and her daughter Angel; and her best friend, James Taylor, who took her in and cared for her up to her last moments, and was like a son to her. There will be many people she deeply cared for that are not listed here, simply because she had so many loved ones. Were sorry if we missed you, and want you to know how important you were to her.In the words of her great great niece, and her namesake, Mariana Florence, Dear Aunt Flossie, I love you so much, I just wish you could stay. We all wish she could have stayed. The family of Florence would like to extend a thank you to Hospice of Northwest Ohio and request that all donations be sent to them in Florences name. There will be an upcoming memorial service at the VFW Post. Date to be determined.
