Ferris Ruffin

Ferris Regina (Hicks) Ruffin, age 60, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, June 10, 2024 in Toledo, OH. Born February 7, 1964 in Chicago, IL, to the union of the late Leon J. Hicks, Sr. and the late Lula (Echols) Hicks.Ferris and Richard married November 22, 2009. There was absolutely nothing Richard and Ferris would not do for their family.Ferris graduated from Libbey High School, Class of 1982. She then graduated from the Toledo Beauty Academy and also studied at the Huron Beauty School/ She was well knowing for styling hair and helping women regain their confidence. She catered to her clients often by being a listening ear and shoulder to lean on. She was affectionately called Auntie Ferris. She would host sleepovers for her younger cousins for the holidays and loved family cookouts. She loved to travel and meet new people.She will be missed by her husband, Richard Ruffin; daughter, Ashley Jenkins; grandchildren, Anthony, Antwaun, & Annie Jenkins and Ashlyn & Alivia Jones; and 1 great-granddaughter, Aria Jenkins. She leaves to cherish her memory her sisters, Sharon Echols, Tishina Jackson; and brothers, Leon J. Hicks, Jr. and Charles Hicks all of Toledo, OH. Additionally, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.She was preceded in death by her mother and father and her sister, Kimberly Hicks.We will miss her smile and laughter. I Will Always Love You was one of her favorite songs and we will always love you Auntie Ferris. You have gained your wings and now you are free.
