Eugene Williams

Eugene A Williams, age 87, of Toledo passed away at Parkcliffe Alzheimers Community on 2/3/2013. He was born in Toledo Ohio on 10/23/1925 to Arthur and Lena Williams. Eugene retired from Toledo Towel Supply where he worked in Finance. Eugene was a veteran of the United States Navy during WWII where he worked in radio and communications. He was involved in the American and Asiatic Pacific Campaigns on the USS Okinawa. He was also involved in the Philippine liberation. Eugene enjoyed traveling, family ping pong tournaments, photography and investing. He loved to tell stories to his many children and grandchildren. He was an avid fan of the arts and music and enjoyed sharing his tunes with a sleepy household on Sunday mornings. He played the saxophone, violin and Hawaiian guitar. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents; wife; Phyllis A Williams, children; Thomas and Robbie Williams. He is survived by his children: Larry (Sally) Williams, Dale (Gaye) Williams, Mary Jo (Gary Hoot) Schafer, Karen Shearer and Mark (Robin Alcock) Williams; grandchildren: Tracy, Amy, Angela, Justin, Jessie, Karina, Nathan, Heather, Ryan, and Mark; great grandchildren: Devon, Braden, Erin, Logan, Payton, Olive and Ethan; special friend: Barb Williams. Visitation for Eugene will be at H.H.Birkenkamp Funeral Home (419-473-1301) on Thursday 2/7/2013 from 4:00 pm 8:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at St. Patricks of Heatherdowns on Friday, 2/8/2013 starting at 10:00a.m. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
