Eugene Edward Hawkins

Eugene Hawkins, 84, passed away on April 17, 2026, in Toledo, OH.

He was born on March 25, 1942 in Toledo., OH, to Harold Hawkins and Helen Hawkins.

Eugene got his GED in the military. He started his career as an electrician. and went on to work for Sears for 30 years.

Eugene married Janet Hawkins on October 12, 2022 and they have been together as a couple since 2005 as a couple they have 7 children together, Gene & Jill Hawkins, Stephanie Hawkins, Teresa & Dennis Fletcher, Ginger Borton, James & Darlene Borton Andrea & Shawn Hayes, John Borton.

Eugene was best known for Ham Radio, electronics, building antennas and playing the organ & gardening. He enjoyed perch fishing and family vacations.

Eugene also served in the Navy from 1959 to 1968.

Eugene is survived by Janet Hawkins - spouse, of Toledo; Gene Hawkins - son, Jill Hawkins - daughter-in-law, Stephanie Hawkins - daughter, Lenora Mcnair - sister, Teresa Fletcher daughter Dennis Fletcher son-in-law Ginger Borton daughter, James Borton son, Darlene Borton Daughter-in-law Andrea Hayes Daughter in-law Shawn Hayes son-in-law John Borton Son Grandkids Samantha Ellis, Kellie McMillan, Destiny & Shawn Bowen, Vivian O'Connor Heaven Smith, Ashland, Alexius, Valerie., jasmine, Sarah, Simeon Borton. Hunter, Arion, Mason, Immogen Hayes, Kia & Killian Borton several great grand children

Eugene is preceded in death by Harold Hawkins - father, Helen Hawkins - mother, Bernice Channiey.

The service for Eugene Hawkins will be held on Wednesday, at 12:00 PM at the Robert Shank, Sr. Chapel at Sunrise Funerals & Cremations - Walbridge (701 N. Main St.)

Visitation: Wednesday, at 10:00 AM will proceed the Service. Burial: Lake Township Cemetery, Millbury Ohio.

Memorial donations can be made in Eugene's name to The Church of Maumee.
