Ernest E. Zedlitz

Ernest Zedlitz, age 89 of Swanton, Ohio passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at Swanton Valley Nursing Home with his wife Naomi by his side. Ernie was born in Toledo, Ohio on October 11, 1933, to Herbert and Mildred (Gray) Zedlitz, both preceded him in death.

Ernie graduated from Central Catholic High School. After graduation he went into the family business at Zedlitz Meat Market, followed by years in sales. He married the love of his life Naomi (Izzy) Zedlitz, who survives, and they would have been married for 70 years in July.

They were blessed with 4 children, Tina (Tom) Michalkiewicz, Tom (Connie) Zedlitz, Tammy Vaughn, and Tim (Julie) Zedlitz. Ernie loved his many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Ernie is also survived by his sister Patricia Zimmerman as well as many nieces and nephews.

Throughout his life he enjoyed hunting, fishing, baseball, bowling, and his horses.

Per Ernie’s request there will be a celebration of life at a later date.
