Ernest Coffey

Ernest H. Coffey, age 68, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Toledo Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was born in Boston, Mass. on July 6, 1947 to Ernest and Ruby Coffey. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corp. Ernest was a heating and air conditioner technician for various companies for many years, retiring in 2012. His passion was to teach little league football and baseball. Ernie was very active with Washington Local Football and baseball for over 35 years, mostly with Greenwood Knights. His teams won many championships, which he was very proud of. He was preceded in death by his parents. Ernie is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Kathy Coffey, devoted children, Ernie Coffey, Rob Coffey, Christine (Ryan) Vicroy, D.J. Collins and Angie Coffey. Also surviving are grandchildren; Sierra, Brock, Cody, Josh, Justin, Drew, Autumn, MaKayla, Tyler, Emily, Austin, Autumn, Jaylynn, Mason and Garran. Memorial visitation will be at H. H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Rd (419-473-1301) on Tuesday, September 1 from 1:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Sharing of memories will begin at 7:00 pm.
