Elisabeth Ellen Keeler

Elisabeth Ellen Keeler, age 82 of Toledo, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2015 at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania. Elisabeth was born on November 1, 1932 in Rechlfing, Germany to Franz Xaver and Theresa (Bachmeier) Held. Elisabeth met her husband, Jerry Keeler while he was stationed in Erding Germany serving in the US Air Force. They fell in love and were married on October 18, 1958 in Erding. Upon returning to the US in 1960, Elisabeth and Jerry raised 5 wonderful children. Elisabeth was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church since its inception. She was employed by Washington Local Schools as a Safety Aide for McGregor School for 35 years. Elisabeth was a self-taught seamstress and made her daughters 1st Communion and wedding dress. She enjoyed making various uniforms for local businesses. Elisabeth is survived by her loving husband, Jerry M. Keeler, children; David (Debbie) Keeler, Steven (Patty) Keeler, Gerald A. Keeler, Beverly (Dan) Muszynski, and Timothy (Donna) Keeler, grandchildren; Derek, Brock, Katie, Logan, Steven, Melanie, Daniel, Jacob, Alyssa, Brett, Aleah, and Christian, great grandson, Jason, sisters; Marie Stone, Magdalena Savage, and Walburga Vogler, brother, Josef Held, and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 from 2:00 until 8:00PM at H.H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home; 3219 Tremainsville Rd. 419-473-1301. Mass of Resurrection will be held on Wednesday, March 25 at 10:00AM at St. Clement Catholic Church, interment to follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donation be made to Ebeid Hospice (419-824-8840) for their loving care and dedication to those they serve.
