Eleanor R. (Shanteau) Lang
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mom, Eleanor "Ellie" R. Lang, age 91, of Oregon, Ohio, on January 24, 2025 at the Landings of Oregon. Ellie was born on October 10, 1933, in Toledo, Ohio, to Raymond and Lexie Shanteau. She was a 1951 graduate of Libbey High School. Ellie married the love of her life, Donald E. Lang, on December 1, 1956. They were married for 57 years and lived in Toledo for many years before moving to Bradenton, Florida where they lived for over 20 years until Don's passing in 2013. Ellie moved to Walbridge, Ohio in 2016 and has lived at the Landings of Oregon for the last couple of years.
Ellie worked in various office jobs throughout the years. She had many hobbies including sewing, reading, doll collecting, square dancing, bingo, and playing cards and dice games. She was best known for her quick wit, sense of humor, and kindness.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Dawn (Greg) Manworren, Tamra (William) Woolridge, grandson Scott Leonard, grand daughter Shannon (Josh) Heinemann, grandson Mark (Anna) Leonard, 11 great grandchildren, sister-in-law Dorothy Shanteau, brother-in-law Lyle Swihart, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Don, brother Donald Shanteau, sister LaDonna Swihart, and nephews Lyle Swihart and Doug Shanteau.
The family wishes to thank the Landings of Oregon and Care 360 Hospice for their loving care and kindness.
Friends will be received at the Robert Shank, Sr. Chapel at Sunrise Cremations and Funerals (701 N. Main St.) on Monday June 9 2025 from 11 AM until the time of Services at Noon. Burial will follow at Ft. Meigs Cemetery, Perrysburg. Memorial contributions may be made to Care 360 Hospice, the American Heart Association, or the donor's choice.
