Elaine Lynn Isabell

Feb 4, 1955 — Jul 24, 2026

Maumee, Ohio

Elaine Lynn Isabell, 71, passed away on July 24, 2026. She was born on February 4, 1955, to Wilbur and Evelyn (DeWitt) Laubenthal.

A proud graduate of Woodward High School's Class of 1973, Elaine continued her education at the University of Toledo, graduating with the Class of 1975. She went on to become a Registered Medical Assistant and dedicated her career to caring for others through her work with ProMedica Physicians Group.

Elaine was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who cherished her family above all else. Nothing brought her greater joy than attending her grandchildren's events, cheering them on in all their activities, and creating special memories with them. She especially loved taking her granddaughters to the movies, where simple outings became treasured moments together.

Known for her quick wit, generous spirit, and warm heart, Elaine had a way of making everyone around her feel welcome. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, faithfully cheering for the Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals, listening to bands at small-town festivals, and spending time with family over tacos and a good Red Eye Margarita. She was especially known for her beloved "Christmas Crack," also known as Butter Crunch Toffee, which became a treasured holiday tradition for those fortunate enough to receive it. Her warmth, kindness, laughter, and unwavering love for her family will be remembered by all who knew her.

Elaine is survived by her children, Duane (Shelly) Isabell and Joe (Christie) Isabell; her grandchildren, Lexus (Justin) Snow, Kiersten Isabell, Emmalee Isabell, and Adriana Isabell; her sister, Suzanne Nailor; her sister-in-law, Barbara Laubenthal; and many nieces and nephews. She shared an especially close bond with her nephew, John Nailor, whom she loved as both a nephew and a dear friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Evelyn Laubenthal; her siblings, Tommy Laubenthal, Paul Laubenthal, Kathryn Fauver, and Judy Stevens; her brother-in-law, Forrest Nailor; and her nephew, Gary Nailor.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Parish, 104 W. Broadway St., Maumee, OH 43537, on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 10:30 a.m.

Elaine's family finds comfort in the countless memories she leaves behind and the love she shared so freely throughout her life. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy lives on in the family she loved so dearly, the traditions she created, and the many lives she touched with her compassion, laughter, and generous heart.
