Edward Tutelian

June 11, 1935 — November 22, 2021

Mr. Edward Tutelian of Sylvania, Ohio, beloved husband of the late Asdghig Tutelian, passed away on November 22, 2021.Ed was born in 1935 and lived in Toledo, Ohio. His late father, Mike Tutelian, owned the Olympia Restaurant on Sylvania and Upton Avenues. The restaurant was named after his mother who had passed away in 1950. In 2013, Ed also lost his beloved brother, Miran Tutelian, head of the IRS offices in Toledo and AkronEd was a graduate of Devilbiss High School. He attended the University of Toledo and ultimately received his degree in Social Studies from Ohio Northern University. He completed his post graduate work at Bowling Green State University. While at Ohio Northern, he was active in the Northern Players, became one of the reporters for the school paper, was an active member of the International Club, Alpha Sigma Phi Social and Theta Alpha Phi Dramatic Fraternities.He was a greatly admired teacher and taught for 39 years at Bedford Schools, including adult education. At Bedford High School he was the Teacher Representative of PTSA, served on the professional development committee, and member of BEA, MEA and NEA educational organizations. Additionally, he was a prominent member of several Armenian organizations. Among may other honors, he was named Outstanding Teacher. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame at Bedford High School from where he retired in 1998. Even in his retirement from teaching, he was very involved in several teachers retirement organizations. Ed had a great passion for history and current events. He loved to read, travel, attend classical concerts and operas. He joined heartily in any discussion on varied subjects.Ed Tutelian was happily married to Asdghig since 1969. Asdghig preceded him in death in 2020.
