Eddie Mclafferty

Eddie McLafferty, 86, of Swanton, Ohio, passed peacefully on August 8, 2025, in his home. Born on August 31, 1938, also in Swanton. Eddie spent his entire life rooted in the community he loved.

A dedicated and hardworking man, Eddie served his country with honor before embarking on a long career with Jeep Corporation. His commitment to both service and labor reflected a deep sense of responsibility and perseverance. After many years of diligent work, he retired from Jeep, leaving behind a legacy of integrity and dedication.

Eddie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Doris Ann McLafferty; his son, Robert Lewis Wirtz, daughter Julie McLafferty, and 10 brothers and sisters. Though their absence was deeply felt, Eddie remained a pillar of strength for those around him.

He is lovingly remembered by his children: Deb Blueitt; Dee Wirtz (Patty O’Neil); Joan McLafferty-Brong, Eddie (Kelly) McLafferty; Shannon McLafferty, (Brian Garufos) ; and Kathy McLafferty. His legacy continues through his 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, who carry forward the values he installed.

Friends will be received at the Ray Neville Chapel at Sunrise Cremations and Funerals, Holland (7438 Airport Hwy., 419-865-8879) on Thursday August 14, 2025 from 3 PM until 7 PM, where Services will be held on Friday August 15, 2025 at 10 AM. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Roth Cemetery, Monclova Twp.
