Duane Roehrig, age 77 of Ottawa Lake, Michigan, passed away with his loving family by his side at his home on Thursday, December 3, 2015. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on August 20, 1938 to his parents, Glen and Dorothy (Kruse) Roehrig. He was employed with Bettinger Farms (Raab Corner) and A & P Warehouse. Duane retired from Champion Spark Plug at the age of 48. He was an avid NASCAR fan and marble collector. It was his goal to have the first tomato of the season in Ottawa Lake every year. He loved his dogs, Maya and Chico. Duane was a longtime member of Ottawa Lake Sportsman Club, Great Northern Sportsmens Club and a lifetime member of the American Trap Shooting Assocation. Duane had a soft heart for all his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Lois Beatty. Duane is survived by his wife of 15 years, Cynthia Roehrig, children, David Roehrig, Sherie (Wayne) Long, Terrie (Rick) Lundy, Beth (Garrett) Jacobson, Rick James, Amy James, Danny James, David James and Jennifer (Pat) Fields. He is also survived by his 24 grandchildren, (special granddaughter and caregiver, Sierra), brother, Warren (Donna) Roehrig, sisters, Jeanette Ziehr and Joyce (Lynn) Aultman. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. To honors Duanes wishes there will not be any visitation or funeral services. Professional services were provided by H. H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home.
