Douglas Campbell Simmons, surrounded by his loving family, passed away unexpectedly on February 22, 2024. He was born on November 7, 1957, to his parents Brent and Linda (Pankiw) Simmons in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. An adventurous traveler of the world, Doug had many passions, including cooking gourmet food, astronomy, antiquing, and meeting new people. He never met a stranger and had a gift of storytelling that kept listeners hanging on every word, and his stories grew larger with each retelling. He retired from a successful career as a salesperson in the automotive industry.
He met his wife Dawn at the University of Houston in 1975, and they enjoyed over 44 years of marriage together. They were everything to each other. Being a family man, Doug was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and uncle.

Carr, Allison Carr; great niece Violet; and great nephew Caiden.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society in Doug’s honor would help carry on his legacy.
