Douglas Laas

.Douglas A. Laas, of Toledo, formally of the Shoreland area, passed away way too soon, on Friday, April 8, 2016. Doug was born to Robert and Ruth Laas on June 19, 1958. Doug was a former employee of Lucas Co. Maintenance division, a volunteer firefighter and then the roofing industry. He adored his wife, children and grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by many dear friends. He is survived by his best friend and wife, Laurie; mother, Ruth; children, Doug Jr. (Jackie), Andrea (John) LaRoe and Amanda; stepchildren, Jason (Latonya) Nowak, Elizabeth (Tim) O'Hair; 18 grandchildren; and special friend, Sierra. Also surviving are siblings, Sam (Doreen), Judy (John) Prater; stepsiblings, Lynette (Jim) Reebees, Karen (Rodney) Bailey, Danny (Faith) Wolfram, Robin (Jim) Whiteal and Mike Wolfram. He was preceded in death by his son, David; father, Robert; and stepfather, Bob. Per Doug's wishes he will be cremated with no services. There will be a celebration of life, on Thursday, April 14, 2016, at the Anchor Inn from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.
