Dorothy Jean Smotherman

Dorothy Jean Smotherman, passed away June 3, 2015. Dorothy was born on October 22, 1926 to Russell and Ruth (Meister) Eaglin. On May 16, 1947, Dorothy married the love of her life, Fred Marvin Smotherman. Together they had a wonderful life, enjoying camping and motorcycling with their children and close friends. They also enjoyed spending time at their cottage at Bird Lake and getting together with best friends for game night. She was an avid NASCAR fan and could be found every Sunday rooting for her favorite, Dale Jr. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband. Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory, her four children, who she loved unconditionally, Jerry (Dolly) Smotherman, Jan (Phil) Wetherald, Rusty (Beth) Smotherman and Bill (Linda) Smotherman. Also her 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 9 great, great grandchildren. Dorothys family would like to thank the staff at Oakleaf Village and the Goerlich Center for their loving care of their Mom. Visitation will be Sunday, June 7, 2015 at H. H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Rd, 419-473-1301 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral service are at 11:00 am on Monday. Interment to follow at Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery.
