Dorothy Jean Jackson-Farmer

Dorothy Jean Jackson-Farmer, 87 of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully on Fathers Day June 21, 2015 at Northwest Ohio Hospice. Dorothy was born to the union of Daniel and Edna (Van Patter) Jackson in Toledo, Ohio on January 4, 1928. Dorothy was preceded in death by her Son Bruce B. Farmer, Parents, four Brothers and one Sister. Dorothy formally worked at American Motors in Milwaukee, Wisconsin as a seamstress and owned her own mens clothing store named Dots Haberdashery from 1965 until 1971. Upon arriving to Toledo, Dorothy worked at Banner Mattress and Stautzenberger College. She dedicated her life to ministering to the sick and shut in; visiting nursing and group homes. She was a faithful member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church where her father, the late Daniel L. Jackson was Founder. Later on, she joined the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching basketball and was a devout Lakers fan favoring Magic Johnson. Dorothy leaves to cherish her memories; Daughter Marla Farmer-Cole, Grandson Larry Clay Jr. (affectionately called June Bug by Dorothy), Grand-Daughter Candace Jean Cole, Great-Grandchildren Noah Clay and Elijah Primas, Sisters; Marie Weathers and Marjorie Davis, Brother Robert Jackson, Sister-in-law Carrie Jackson, God-sister Leola Haynes, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 26, 2015 at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will start at 5 PM followed by the funeral service at 6 PM by Reverend Jimmy Jordan. Arrangements under the direction of Blanchard-Strabler Funeral Home, Toledo, OH.
