Doris A. Hughes Swartz

Doris A. Swartz, age 72 of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2009 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was born on August 26, 1936 to her parents, Forrest and Florence (George) Hughes in St Marys, Ohio. Doris, with her husband, James, was very active and loyal members of their church, Holland Free Methodist Church. She was very devoted to reading the Bible everyday and lived her life to her readings. Doris also loved working crossword puzzles, board puzzles and a longtime bunco player. She belonged to card clubs and loved playing euchre and pinochle. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Forrest and Florence Hughes, beloved husband, James Swartz, brothers, Franklin Hughes and Donald Hughes.She is survived by her loving children, Doug (Celeste) Swartz, Tammie (Don) Miller, precious grandchildren, Joshua Swartz, Jason Swartz, Jessica Swartz, Krystal Miller, Nicholas Miller, Katelyn Miller, great grandchildren, Jordon Swartz, Jailynne Hitt-Swartz, brothers William (Ethel) Hughes, James, (Dorothy) Hughes, Raymond (Juanita) Hughes, and sister-in-laws, Jeannine Hughes, Betty Hughes. Visitation for Doris will be at H. H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Rd, (at Alexis) 419-473-1301 on Sunday, May 31, from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral services are at 11:00 am on Monday in the funeral home. Interment at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E.
