Donovan V Briggs, Jr.

Donovan V. “Bud” Briggs Jr., of Holland, OH, passed away December 24, 2022, at Kingston Care Center of Sylvania. Donovan was born in Beverly, Massachusetts on February 3, 1947, to Donovan Sr. and Catherine (Oliver) Briggs.

Bud proudly served his country in the United States Army. After his time in the Army, Bud went on to work at GM Powertrain, working there for 37 ½ years. Bud married his loving wife Joan on July 25, 1981, and together they combined a loving blended family. Joan preceded Bud in death with her passing on May 1, 2014.

Bud, known for his quick-witted humor, was generous, loving, kind, loyal, and a good provider for his family. He loved many activities like bowling, having multiple “300” games”, as well as golfing, camping, and his favorite, working on and restoring classic cars. He was a member of National Street Rod Association and once served on the UAW Recreation Committee.

Surviving is his sons, Troy Briggs, and Paul (Sherry) Miles; daughters, Bridget Briggs, and Renee Miles; grandchildren, Paul (Sarah) Miles, Austin (Kendalyn) Miles, and Sean Kropaczewski; great grandchildren, Edward Bear Miles and Mary Joan Miles; sister, Tammy (Dave) Krabill as well as many loved nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Joan, Bud was preceded in death by his sister Linda Bruseau.

Friends and family will be received at Walker Funeral Home Holland/Springfield Chapel, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland (419-865-8879) from 10:00 – 11:30 AM on Friday December 30,2022 with a Funeral Service following at 11:30 AM.
