Donna Mae Dion

Donna Mae Dion, age 94, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2021. Donna was a graduate of Holland High School in 1945. She was a participant in the Army Cadet Nursing Program during World War II. After completing Flower Hospital’s registered nurse program, she provided nursing care to the Navajo Reservation in Arizona and the Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. After her initial nursing experience, she was employed by Riverside Hospital, Flower Hospital, and the Toledo Hospital. Her Toledo Hospital employment covered over 35 years. Donna enjoyed traveling, her family, and her church. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Donna is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Theodore F. Dion; sons, Michael, Steven (Peggy) and Russ (Sandy); sister, Kathryn Guilbault; numerous grandchildren, great children, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dallas and Alice (Lutton) Barnes. Family and friends will be received from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 27, 2021 in Providence Lutheran Church, 8131 Airport Highway, Holland, OH 43528, with Pastor Todd Milner officiating. Burial will be held in Springfield Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Providence Lutheran Church or Promedica Hospice.
