Donald Duck Landis

Donald 'Duck' Landis, age 85 of Lambertville, Michigan and formally of Toledo, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 with his loving children by his side. Donald was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving 1945 until 1949 on the USS Ajax. He was a carpenter for Local 351 until he retired. Donald enjoyed; hunting, gardening, playing euchre and spending time with his family. He was a lifetime member of Great Northern Sportsman Club where he enjoyed spending his free time. He proudly cared for his club and it was a big part of his life. Donald will be missed by all of his fellow members. He also was a member Ottawa Lake Sportsman Club. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Joyce Landis and grandson, Jamie Nelson.Donald is survived by his devoted children, Sandy (John) Contreras, Cindy (Duane) Roehrig, Vickie Armstrong, Lee Ann Nelson, Don (Debbie) Landis Jr., Karen Zeller, his 15 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 2 great, great grandchildren and his 3 sisters. He also leaves behind his beloved 4 legged companion, Dee Dee and many other family members and countless friends. We will all miss his wonderful smile and sense of humor, always making us laugh to the very end. Visitation for Donald will be at H. H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Rd. (at Alexis) 419-473-1301 on Sunday, March 24 from 12:00pm (noon) until 3:00 pm.
