Donald E. Blakeman

Donald E. Blakeman, age 78, of Lambertville, Michigan, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2009 at Flower Hospital.He was born in Ida, Michigan on May 9, 1930 to Harold and Mary Blakeman. Donald proudly severed his county with the United States Navy. He was employed as a sheet metal worker with Local #6 and Local #33 for 43 years. Donalds hobby included collecting coffee cups.He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of 57 years, Cleo Blakeman, sister, Ruth and brothers, Kenny and Grant. Donald is survived by his devoted children, Clarence (Mary) Blakeman, Karen (Preston) Taylor, Norma (Edwin) Kading, Chrystal (Ray) Bodkins, Sarah (Rod) Barbre, Robert (Jennifer) Blakeman, Richard Blakeman, Vanessa (Terry) Burkhead, Cecilia (Marvin) Clark, 25 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, brothers, Ed (Mary) Blakeman, Al Blakeman, Leo Blakeman, Neil Blakeman and Floyd Blakeman.Visitation for Donald will be at H. H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Rd, (at Alexis) 419-473-1301 on Thursday, January 8 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm with funeral service to be held at 11:00 am on Friday.
