Diann Jean Jackson

Diann Jean Jackson, Holland, Ohio passed away May 29, 2021. She was born November 19, 1939 from the union of Morris and Bettie (Whitman) Applegate. In 1957 she graduated from Whitney Vocational High School as a cosmetologist and later that same year she married Richard A. Jackson. In the 1960’s Diann worked as a hairdresser at Fashion Manor and had the extreme pleasure of styling the opera singers’ hair at the Peristyle. She left that business to be a full-time mom. Diann and Dick raised four boys; Rick Jackson, Mike Jackson, Tony Jackson and Bracy Jackson. After her boys were raised, Diann did go back to work and retired from Springfield Schools after 25 years. She got a big kick when she obtained her boilers license. “I CAN DRIVE A TRAIN” she would say. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard, parents, Morris and Bettie; brothers, Stan and Bud Applegate; grandson, Aaron Jackson and her great-granddaughter, Sara Strezinski. Diann had many joys in life but one must be said, “She finally got her daughters; Leslie, Laurie, Kiyomi, and Jen, through marriage.” Family and friends will be received at Walker Funeral Home, Holland-Springfield Chapel, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland, OH 419-865-8879 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Monday, June 7, 2021. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. and burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. The family sends a special thanks to all at McLaren St. Luke’s Hospital and everyone at Ohio Living Hospice. Diann was a beautiful person through and through and will be missed by all who knew her.
