Diane Wagner

March 20, 1943 — December 22, 2024

On Sunday December 22, 2024, the life of Diane Wagner was completed. Sadness abounds as her presence leaves us. Joy, however, envelops, as her family and friends remember the delightful person born on March 20, 1943 as Diane Hoover. The gift of Diane was brought to us all by her Mother Dorothy (Christie) Hoover, and her father Edward Hoover. She was the third of six children. Diane attended Rosary Cathedral for elementary school then graduated from Central Catholic HS in 1961. School was easy for her as noted by her sister Dottie, who envied the fact she could get such high marks, without lifting a book. Diane was reared in faith by God the Father, guided through life by the teachings of Jesus Christ, and thrived through the strength of the Holy Spirit. Shortly after high school Diane met and married Michael Wagner on June 1, 1962 with whom she loved and partnered so well. At the peak of Dianes life she measured 411. People would quickly realize her stature was in direct yet opposite proportion to her wit, and charm. It was very rare to get the last laugh on Diane, she was just too sharp. Those who knew that best, sat beside her at the poker table.

Although she came of age in the 1950s, along with raising her children Terry (Dan) Desmond, Michael (Dana) Wagner, Tom Wagner and David (Melanee) Wagner throughout the 60's, 70's and 80s, Diane was never lost in contemporary conversation. That would continue as she enjoyed the company of her grandchildren Corey (Kylie) Wagner, Shannon (Nathan Parke) Desmond, Devon Desmond, Ryan Wagner, Marissa Wager, Tom Wagner and Kody (Carl) Ziegler. She often spoke with fondness about her siblings that are left to remember her, Edward (Toby) Hoover, Dorothy Keween and Bill (Mary) Hoover, as well as her siblings she joins in paradise, Dick and Bob Hoover. Diane mourned the loss, but celebrated the lives of others including her parents, Florence and Barney Wagner, Jim Keween, Maureen Hoover and Nancy Hoover. Those who had the pleasure of occupying any amount of time with Diane Wagner are better people because of it..

A funeral service will be at Rosary Cathedral 2535 Collingwood Blvd. on January 11, 2025 at 10:00 am. All are welcome for some coffee & donuts directly following the service at Rosary Cathedral."
