Delores M Christen

Delores “Loy” M. Christen, 100, of Toledo, OH passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at Swanton Valley Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. She was born on July 20, 1921 in Toledo, OH to Charles and Vanessa (Russ) Jennings and she married Allen Christen, the love of her life, in Toledo on June 14, 1940. They had 55 wonderful years together before he passed. Loy was a 1939 graduate of DeVilbiss high school. She enjoyed bowling, golf as well as crocheting and loved to go dancing. Loy was also an avid Ohio State Buckeye Fan. She was a member of the Lady Elks in Maumee, OH and worked for several years at Libbey Glass before retiring. Loy is survived by her loving daughters, Sandy (Rudy) Keefer and Susan (Fred) Harrigan; grandchildren Lisa (Andy) Storer; Michael (Tina) Harris and Scott (Kristen) Harris; 9 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren; honorary daughters, Nancy Smitley and Connie “Tis” Wojanis. She is preceded in death by her husband, Allen, daughter, Joyce Ann Smith and beloved pug, Penny. Family and friends will be received on Friday, December 3, 2021 from 2:00 to 8:00 pm in Walker Funeral Home, Holland-Springfield Chapel, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland, OH 43528 (419-865-8879). Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 10:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to the caregivers at Swanton Valley for their wonderful care and compassion. Memorial contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice.
