Della Erswell Wilson

Della Erswell Wilson, age 84, of Toledo, Ohio and Clemont, Florida passed away Friday, October 1, 2010 at Aspen Grove. She was born in Toledo on August 30, 1926 to Revillo and Florence Stevens. Della graduated from Whitmer High School in 1944. She married Herbert Erswell in 1947. Dellas was first employment was with Jamison Brothers Hudson Dealership then later became an insurance agent for R.O. Stevens and Hartcourt Insurance Agencies. She pursued an education degree in the early 1960s and earned her bachelors and masters degrees from The University of Toledo in 1970. Della became a teacher with Washington Local Schools teaching business math and accounting for 28 years at Whitmer High School. After retirement Della moved to Clermont, Florida, There she married Bill Wilson in 1994. She was an avid golfer. a past member of Giant Oaks Country Club in Temperance and Green Valley Country Club in Clermont.She was past president of The Childrens Conservation League, Delta Kappa Gamma and Trilby Volunteers Firemans Ladies Auxiliary. Della was a member of Trilby United Methodist Church and First United Methodist Church in Clermont,Della loved to travel going to Cuba, Hawaii, England, Scotland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico and Alaska.She was preceded in death by her parents, Revillo and Florence Stevens, husbands, Herbert Erswell in 1991 and Bill Wilson in 2005, brothers, Wallace Stevens, Alvin Stevens and Melvin Stevens and granddaughter, Katie Maguire. Della is survived by her loving children, Darlene (James) Freel, Dennis (Angie) Erswell, Thomas (Melanie) Erswell, grandchildren Jared (Miake) Freels, Jennifer (Matt) Banks, Evan Erswell, Megan Erswell, Craig (Stephanie) Erswell, Brooke (Nick) Erswell, Tommilyn Erswell, great grandchildren, Allison Freels, Kyle Freels and Aaron Erswell, brothers, Revillo (Carolyn) Stevens, and John (Jo) Stevens and many nieces and nephews.Visitation for Della will be at H. H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Rd (at Alexis) 419-473-1301 on Monday, October 4 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm with funeral services to be held at 11:00 on Tuesday. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
