Dawn L. Clifton

Dawn L. Clifton, 51, of Risingsun, Ohio, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, June 16, 2024. The daughter of Donald L. and Cathelene F. (Blackburn) Walender, she was born in Toledo, Ohio on August 18, 1972. She graduated in 1990 from Rossford High School and earned her degree in phlebotomy from Owens Technical College.

Dawn spent many years as a phlebotomist around the Toledo area, retiring from Toledo Hospital. She loved her job and made many friends over the years. Helping people was something she held deep in her heart. Always willing to extend her gifts of time, talent, and treasure to those that needed it, a reliable comforting soul she had.

Christopher, her son, and Dawn were a close mother and son and relied on each other more after Dawn’s ex-husband, Michael Clifton, passed away in 2021. It was the two of them, just hanging out and doing whatever came their way. Dawn was a very talented quilter and created many wonderful pieces for family and friends. She collected elephants and over the years amassed a wonderful collection. Dogs held a special place in her life and there was always a favorite k-9 somewhere around.

Dawn is survived by her son, Christopher Clifton, father, Donald (Sally) Walender, mother, Cathelene (Merle) Snyder and sisters, Donna Miller and Debra (Jody) Walter, nieces and nephews, Jennifer & Josh Lawrence, Michael and Sandy Walter, Cody Morris, Donald & Brooke Miller, and Leroy Miller. She was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Michael Clifton.

A celebration of Dawn’s life service is scheduled for August 18, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Glass City Boardwalk, 27820 E. Broadway, Walbridge, Ohio 43465.
