David Lee Fincher, 66, of Oregon lost his battle with cancer January 13, 2018. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. David served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt, and retired from First Energy (Davis-Besse) in 2013 where he worked in the warehouse for over 20 years. He was a proud member of the IBEW Local 245, devoting many years as a union steward. David enjoyed spending time with those close to him, including family hunting trips to southern Ohio and riding motorcycles with his longtime friend, Mike Johnson. David was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Nora Fincher, mother in-law Annetta Smith, brother James Fincher, daughter Stormy Fincher-Loesch, son-in-law Richard Loesch, and grandson Craig Sibbersen II. David is survived by his wife, of nearly 44 years, Ann Fincher (Smith), brother Jon (Grace), father in-law Oscar Smith, children Misty, David II (Lindsey), Michael (Kersten), ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and his beloved dog, Murphy. Family and friends are invited to attend services Saturday January, 20th, 10AM-Noon at the Blanchard-Strabler Funeral Home 1163 West Sylvania Ave Toledo, OH 43612 with a luncheon to follow. Donations in memory of David should be made to The American Cancer Society or St. Jude (Cancer.org and StJude.org) to help find a cure and help those with cancer in need.
