David Charles Fellers

June 4, 1951 January 8, 2025

David C. Fellers, age 73, passed away on January 8, 2025 surrounded by his family. David was born to Raymond Fellers and Mary Ellen (Byrd) Fellers on June 4, 1951. He grew up in Toledo, OH and graduated from Whitmer High School in 1969. David met Janice (McGee) Fellers, known to him as Maw, in high school and they married on November 22, 1971. Together they have three children, Annmarie, Eric and James. David worked at GM Powertrain on Alexis Road in Toledo for 31 years before retiring. David was devoted to his family, and he was always helping others. He would give you the shirt off his back even if he didnt have it. David had a rich catholic faith, and he was an alter boy at St. Clement Catholic Church. He would say his prayers in Latin from time to time, which surprised his children. He was an avid Ohio State fan but was known to sport Michigan gear for his granddaughter Ava. His sense of humor was second to none. He stood up for what he believed in and had no problem speaking his mind. David enjoyed sitting by the pool and the many family gatherings at his house over the years. Christmas was his favorite holiday even though he truly despised the cold weather. He always made sure Santa Claus stopped by on Christmas Eve, a tradition started by his mother, so the little ones continued to believe in the magic of Christmas. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. He loved spending time with them, supporting them in their activities, and taking them out to eat. The grandkids really knew how to get their way with him. David was a father, uncle and grandpa to many people who loved him dearly and he will be truly missed.

David is survived by his wife Janice (McGee) Fellers and children Annmarie (Tony) Pietras, Eric Fellers, and James (Leah) Fellers along with Gina Keller and Darcy (Kenneth) Wigfall, two nieces he considered daughters, and grandchildren Ava, Madison, Michael and Declan and the many others he considered his own. He is further survived by sister-in-laws Diana Fellers, Christine Fellers and Sue Fellers, and brother-in-law Francis (Bud) Knott, as well as several nieces and nephews and special friends James Bucko, Roger Linkey, and Terry Peters. David was preceded in death by his parents Mary Ellen (Byrd) Fellers and Raymond Fellers, sister MaryAnn Knott, and brothers John (Butch), Timothy, James, and Daniel Fellers.
