Obituary for David S. Damasco

June 5, 1986 - December 31, 2024

David Damasco, beloved son, brother, uncle, grandson, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on December 31, 2024, at the age of 38. Born on June 5, 1986, David was a vibrant and dynamic individual whose passion for life left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

David graduated from Anthony Wayne High School in 2005, where he earned a place on the honor roll throughout his academic career. His dedication to excellence carried through to every facet of his life.

An avid traveler, David had a deep love for Royal Caribbean Cruises, having embarked on 53 voyages over the course of his life. His enthusiasm for the open seas was matched only by his love for adventure. As a pilot, he relished the thrill of the skies, always eager to explore new horizons.

David was a proud supporter of St. Francis football and was a fixture on the sidelines for many years, particularly during the 2001 State Championship Season. St. Francis was a community he cherished and he held an unwavering support for the Knights. Off the field, he was known for his love of off-road vehicles, growing up with go-karts, four-wheelers, and snowmobiles he loved tackling the rugged terrain. His adventurous spirit extended into his hobbies, which also included a fine collection of watches and diecast cars – each one a token of his appreciation for craftsmanship and precision.

David had a deep love for many dogs over the years. Between Shadow, Zoe, Lenix, Joco, and finally Scout – he always had a great companion by his side. He loved his nephew dog Tucker and the neighbor dogs Marshall and Charlie; they will all miss his snuggles dearly.

David’s sense of humor was one of his most defining traits. He loved comedy shows and could always be counted on to bring laughter and light to any room he entered. His infectious laughter and generous heart will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

David’s passing leaves a void in the lives of his family and friends, but his memory will live on in the countless moments of joy, adventure, and laughter he shared with them. He was a loving son, a supportive brother, a devoted uncle, and a cherished grandson, who brought warmth and kindness to all who crossed his path.

He was preceded in death by his loving mother Roberta L. Damasco (Sieren), and is survived by his father, G. Thomas Damasco, brother George Damasco (Brianna), Michael, and sister Lauren Damasco (Gregory Matthews), and his beloved nieces Emelia and Emmalynn Damasco, his paternal grandparents, George and Donelda Damasco, many cousins and so many dear friends.

A Mass of Christian burial will take place the following day at St. Joan of Arc Church at 11:00am preceded by a visitation between 10:00-11:00am at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Ability Center of Toledo a charity that supports those with limited mobility and trains service animals.

A special thank you to Rachel Dailey – David’s loving caregiver in the last few years. He considered her a great friend and confidant. He always expressed a deep gratitude for the love and companionship that she provided.

David’s legacy of love, adventure, and humor will continue to inspire those who knew him. Rest in peace, David—your journey may have ended, but your spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved you.
