Darren E. Wurzelbacher

Darren E. Wurzelbacher, 20, of Toledo, OH passed away on January 9, 2021 at Toledo Hospital. He was born on June 30, 2000 to Robert L. Wurzelbacher and Kelly J. (Kingdom) Durbin in Toledo. Darren was fun-loving, outgoing and always had a joke to tell. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and racing cars as well as spending time with his siblings and his uncle Joe, who he admired and respected greatly. Darren loved being on the baseball field and served as bat boy for his siblings, before playing baseball himself as well as football and wrestling for Springfield Township. He later played junior tennis for the Twos Athletic Club and Varsity Tennis in High School. His favorite moments and memories came from Coach Otis when he would throw his hat down and Darren would laugh and Coach Mark Faber, who he looked up to tremendously. Darren also enjoyed yard work for his loving granny. He loved country music and going to country concerts with his father. One of his greatest joys and love in life was his son, Colton. Darren will be dearly missed by those who knew him. Left to cherish Darren’s memory is his son, Colton; parents, Robert L. Wurzelbacher and Kelly J. Durbin; siblings, Olivia Kingdom, Cody Wurzelbacher, Victoria Wurzelbacher and Kylie Weisner; grandparents, Bonnie and Chuck Kingdom and Frank Wurzelbacher; uncles and aunts, Joe and Katie Wurzelbacher, Shelly Elliott and Stephen Kingdom; many cousins; and the mother of his son, Riley Walker. He is preceded in death by his brother, Derrick E. Wurzelbacher and his grandmother, Phyllis Wurzelbacher. Friends and family will be received on Friday, January 15, 2021 from 5:00 to 9:00 pm in Walker Funeral Home, Holland-Springfield Chapel, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland, OH 43528 (419-865-8879). Visitation will continue on Saturday, January 16, 2021 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm where a funeral service will be held following the visitation at 12:00 pm in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made payable to Colton Wurzelbacher.
