Darlene Kay Smith

Darlene Kay Smith, age 64, of Erie, MI passed away after an unexpected battle with cancer on Thursday, November 5, 2009. She was born in Toledo, OH on June 21, 1945 to Ellsworth and Geraldine Rothlisberger. Darlene worked as a lunch room safety aid for Washington Local Schools for 28 years and at Target as a cashier for many years. Darlene loved going to the zoo and spending time outdoors. Above all, she loved her family and friends and considered her grandchildren true gifts from God. Darlene was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas L. Smith and parents, Ellsworth and Geraldine Rothlisberger. She is survived by her daughters, Michele (Chad) VonDeylen and Sherry Caswell, son, Thomas A. (Kristine) Smith, grandchildren, Megan Gump, Hannah and Kourtney VonDeylen, Aaron and Madison Caswell, Mickinzie and Tyler LaFountain, Paige and Spencer Smith. A Celebration of Life will be held on November 15, 2009 at 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Waterside Clubhouse 7062 Longwater Drive Maumee, OH 43537.
