Dale Spoerl

Dale E. Spoerl, 85 of Toledo, passed away surrounded by family at home on July 17, 2021. Dale was born to Charles and Elsie Spoerl on November 24, 1935. He served in the United States Airforce from January 1954 to October 1957 and would marry Elizabeth Jane (Majewski) Spoerl on July 26 1958. Dale worked at Crown Cork and Seal, formerly Kaiser Aluminum, and most recently as a crossing guard at Whittier Elementary School. He was a referee, umpire, avid bowler and a beloved coach for the Wernert Wildcats. Dale was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and even a Past Grand Knight. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, his parents and his brother Donald Spoerl. He is survived by children Cynthia (Allen) Lather, Steven (Cindy) Spoerl, Kimberly Spoerl and Karen Collins, 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren children, and many nieces, nephews and in-laws. Visitation for Dale will be held Monday, July 26, 2021 from 2-8 P.M. at Blanchard-Strabler Funeral Home (3219 Tremainsville Road, Toledo, OH 43613). A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at 11 A.M. at the Most Blessed Sacrament Parish (2240 Castlewood Drive, Toledo, OH 43613).
