Coreen S Reining

Coreen S. Reining, age 73, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg Center.

Coreen was born on September 25, 1952, in Toledo, Ohio, to David and Dolores (Baranek) Gierke. She grew up in Toledo and built a life centered on faith, family, friendship, and service to others.

She is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth Reining; her daughters, Kenda McCarthy(John) and Amanda Hill (Christopher); and her cherished grandchildren, Katelyn Kellar (Lane), Kasey Peters, Kennedie Hill, Addison Hill, and Payton Hill. She is also survived by her sisters, Leanna Kander and Sherry Hutcherson, and her brother, Dave Gierke (Jill), along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Dolores Gierke.

Coreen was an absolutely amazing woman who touched countless lives. She was kind, selfless, and always put others before herself. A gifted storyteller with a wonderful sense of humor, she had a way of making everyone feel welcome. She loved to cook and took great joy in gathering her family and friends around the table. Above all, she was the best mom and nana, and her smile will forever be embedded in the hearts of those who loved her.

Friends may visit in the Ray Neville Chapel at Sunrise Cremations & Funerals (7438 Airport Highway, Holland, Oh 43528) on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with a funeral service to begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Springfield Township Cemetery. A luncheon will be announced at the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Gierke Memorial Scholarship at the Toledo School for the Arts (www.ts4arts.org) or to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.

Coreen’s family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the many friends, caregivers, and loved ones who showed up for them and supported them throughout her health journey over the past several months.
