Christopher Allen Hartranft Jr. or "CJ", as he was lovingly known as by his family, was born on July 5, 1991 in Toledo, Ohio. He was the son of Carrie and Ray. CJ attended Waite High School in Toledo, Ohio, graduating with the class of 2010.
Chris was a loving son, brother, father, partner, uncle, cousin, and friend. He is survived by his mother, Carrie; father, Ray; sister, Christa; brother, Daniel; his three beautiful children, Xavier, Kane and Rylan; their mothers, Tiera and Tiffani. He is also survived by his niece, Kylee; nephews, Blake, Connor, Landon, and Ezra; and many other loving family members and friends. He held a special bond with his "twin" cousin, Jake, and best friend, Donnie. The bond these three shared was truly special and will never be forgotten but definitely missed.
Chris held many roles throughout his life, but being a father was the role he cherished the most. He absolutely adored his children, who were a tremendous part of his heart and life. His love for them will continue to live on through the memories they shared and the pieces of him they carry with them.
Chris was a man who had a big heart, bright blue eyes, boyish dimples and a vibrant smile. He found joy in wearing his favorite color blue, rooting on his favorite football team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and wolves. He also loved to cook and enjoyed baking with his daughter, Rylan. He loved thinking he was a chef. These few things were a part of who he was and the things his loved ones will always remember about him.
The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to Mr. Streeter and Tracey Walker, who were two of Chris's greatest mentors. Chris looked up to them, respected them and adored them deeply. Their guidance and impact on his life will forever be remembered.
Though Chris was taken from us far too soon, the love he had for his children, family and friends will never fade. He leaves behind countless memories, stories and moments that will be cherished forever and his presence will continue to live on in everyone who loved him or knew him.
He passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 2, 2026 in Oregon, Ohio. His passing was preceded by his Grandma and Grandpa Sheets, Grandma Rahm and his four legged companions, Luckey Dog, Lucy and Smokey.
