Cheryl Ann Knisley

Cheryl Ann Knisley, 76, of Swanton, Ohio passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at home with her loving husband of 43 years by her side. Cheryl and John were married in 1981 and went on to spend 43 years together raising their children and living life to the fullest. Cheryl was born April 24, 1947, to Robert Kimble & Betty Coger in Holland, Ohio. Cheryl was a beautiful majorette and band member at Springfield High School, graduating in 1965.

She was the life of the party and had a passion for entertaining family and friends. Cheryl was the “hostess with the mostess” and had many talents and interests. She had a severe sweet tooth and was known to always have a bowl of sweet treats in the kitchen, especially peanut M&M’s.

Harbor View Yacht Club was home for a number of years for Cheryl, John and their family, spending weekends on their boat “Nicely Done” with her and John serving as commodore and lady Cheryl in 1998.

She loved crafting, listening to her oldie’s music, and loved keeping a great flower bed. In her little bit of downtime, she was known to be found reading anything Danielle Steele.

Cheryl is survived by her devoted husband, John Knisley; children, Wade (Holly) Smith, Brianna (George) Damasco; stepdaughter Jennifer Muir, grandchildren, Harrison, Peyton, Hudson, Emelia, Emmalynn; and siblings, Gay Crabtree (late husband Chester) and Brad (Janet) Kimble. She is preceded in death by her parents and beloved son, William Andrew Smith.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 20, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service beginning at 2 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home Holland/Springfield Chapel, 7438 Airport Highway Holland, Ohio 43528. A reception will follow at the Whithouse Inn, where she spent decades welcoming many and all patrons, so many becoming the dearest of friends. Memorial Donations may be made charity of donor’s choice in Cheryl’s name.
