Charles H. Wolfe

Charles H. Wolfe, age 86, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2009, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg, Ohio, with his loving children by his side. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on December 1, 1922 to Robert and Ellen Wolfe. Charles proudly served his country during WWII in the United States Army. He was in the infantry unit, serving in the European Theater, receiving two bronze stars. Charles spent his entire tour of duty in France and Germany. He was vice president of Industrial Heat Treat for 35 years, retiring in 1989. Charles loved traveling with his wife, Dorothy, especially to Hawaii for more than 40 years. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Dorothy Wolfe and daughter, Pat Wolfe-Bailiff. He is survived by his devoted children, Rick (Nancy) Swick, Shelly (Roger) Lowry, Penny Henderson, 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.Visitation for Charles will be at H. H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Rd (at Alexis) 419-473-1301 on Wednesday, February 25, from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm with funeral services at 11:00 am on Thursday.
