Charles Curtis Smith born 02-06-1957 transitioned to heaven on October 3. 2021 at Regency hospital surrounded by family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anna Frances Smith-Warren and Sonny Gaines, grandmothers Minnie May and Judy Gaines, Grandfathers, George Gaines, William May and very dear sister, Cynthia Williams.surviving siblings:he was known as Chows to his baby sister lovingly known as Lynn (Cheryl Lynn Hampton-Bey, Columbus, Ohio)2 Brothers, Michael Warren and Melvin Warren JR. Columbus, OH. Nieces, Janel Royster, Alisha Royster, Shanell Warren, Mesha Warren, Melvina Warrenand nephews Bryan Williams . Timmy Warren and host of other friends and familyChildhood:He attended Riverside el. In Toledo, Ohio before relocating with his family to Columbus. OH as a teen.He enjoyed working at Four Seasons as a landscaper with his step father Melvin Warren Sr. and younger brothers.Special bond:Charles was very close to his late grandmother Minnie May who cared for him and never left his side in times of need, she would "bend over backwards and touch her toes" for her baby boy Charles.Special Aunt:Charles loved to baby his special Aunt, Tannika May and because he was older, they'd agree that he would be called "Uncle Charles" by her children Deonte', Sylvester, Gavin and I'Ani' and she lovingly referred to him as 'Chuckie'. Their relationship was one of a kind, genuine and special.A Very Special Love:The love of his life was Shevilla Slaughter-(Smith), they had been dating for many decades and were together up until the very end. She was his lady and the love of his life, his best friend, companion, they were inseparable. She loved him hard and long, and never imagined being without him, she misses him dearly and will never forget the impact he had on her life, she cherishes over 30 years of memories.
