Charles Robert Davis

It is with great sadness, we share the loss of Charles Robert Davis, age 82 of Toledo, Ohio. He passed away at Ebeid Hospice on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Washington, Indiana on December 3, 1932 to Kermit and Susie Davis. Bob is a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of V.F.W. and Conn Weissenberger American Legion Post. Bob was employed as a driver for ABF Trucking and most recently Holland Motors for 31 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of Teamsters Local #20. Bobs greatest joy was his wife of 60 years, Shirley, devoting the last 10 years caring for her. He was an avid fan of local sports teams, including the Mud Hens and Toledo Rockets. Bob and his wife also enjoyed their home in Florida during the cold months and taking bus trips to the casinos. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kermit and Susie Davis and sister, Janet McCracken. Bob is survived by his devoted family, wife, Shirley Davis, daughters, Sandra (David) Drewyor, Karen (Richard) Szymczak, Linda (Brian) Driscoll, 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, siblings, James (Susan) Davis, Carol (Gary) Johnson and brother-in-law, Robert McCracken. Visitation will be at H. H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Rd, (419-473-1301) on Friday, February, 27 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. with funeral service in the funeral home at 10:00 am on Saturday.
