Carole Shaffer

Carole Anna Shaffer (Ramey), 89, of Temperance, MI passed away on March 8, 2024, at ProMedica Toledo Hospital surrounded by her children and grandchildren.Carole was born on June 30, 1934, to Claude A. and Martha B. Ramey in Spokane, Washington. She was raised in Boise, Idaho where she met her husband while he was serving in the U.S. Air Force.Carole moved to Temperance to marry Russell on March 26, 1955. They made their home in Temperance. Carole fiercely loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and exemplified His love to all she met. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother who took great joy in her family, friends, church family, and Bible study group.Carole is survived by her children, Sarah, Kathleen (James) Sproles, and Claude; grandchildren, Jason Sproles, Bridget (Jeff) Cummings, Ryan Sproles, and Erik (Samantha) Sproles; as well as 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Claudette Cody and Donna Hawthorne; and brother, Daryl Ramey.She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell; parents, Martha and Claude Ramey; grandson, Nicholas Sproles; sister, Vicki Garretson and brother, Ronald RameyA Celebration of Caroles life is being planned for this spring.Jeremiah 29:11 was her favorite verse.For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
