Carl J Jones

Carl J. Jones, 90, passed away Monday, March 28, 2016 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg, Ohio. He was born in Toledo on April 28, 1925 to Michael J. and Antoinette Nettie (Kreicoch) Jones. Carl graduated from Whitmer High School and afterwards he honorably served in the United States Navy. He married the love of his life, Barbara Kayser on May 20, 1950 and together they raised their family. Carl retired from the United States Postal Service in 1984 where he was a Maintenance Supervisor. He also enjoyed anything outdoors especially hunting and fishing. He bought a farm because of his love for nature and believed there are aliens in our universe. Carl was a proud member of Mensa and a faithful member of St. Clements Catholic Church. Carl is survived by his children, Cathy (Lloyd) Bondy, Jean Roberts, Carl Jones, Jr., and Tina (Mitch) Varwig; 7 granddaughters; 14 great grandchildren; sisters, Dolores Poston and Dorothy Jones; brother, Chuck (Mary) Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara; son, Mike; and brother, Mike. Friends will be received at H. H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Rd., Toledo, Ohio 43613 (419-473-1301) on Thursday, March 31, 2016 from 2:00-8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Friday, April 1, 2016 at 10:30 AM with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
