Burton Martensen

Burton Martensen, age 69, of Toledo, died Wednesday June 7, 2017 at home. He was born July 30, 1949 in Toledo to Mr. & Mrs. Edward C. (Alma M. Kramp) Martensen. He was a 1967 graduate of Start High School and attended the University of Toledo. He was employed with the City of Toledo as an accountant for more than 40 years in the finance and accounting department. He enjoyed watching sports on TV and was an avid Detroit Tiger fan. Burt loved animals and happily took acre of the neighborhood cats. H was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Vera Martensen, who passed at birth. Burt is survived by his sister, Karen (Gene Fodor) Martensen. Friends will be received at Blanchard-Strabler Funeral Home (1163 W. Sylvania at Lockwood, 419-269-1111) on Wednesday from 2-8 PM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 AM at St. Catherine of Siena Church, followed by burial at Toledo Memorial Park, Sylvania.
