Bruce “Bruno” Nachtrab died unexpectedly in his home on September 10, 2022, at the age of 57. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on January 16, 1965, to Fred and Denny (Reed) Nachtrab. In 1983 he graduated from Waite High School. While attending there he began his work for the City of Toledo seasonally at the age of 16. As soon as he turned 18, he was hired full time and worked in the maintenance department in downtown Toledo for 27 years until his retirement. He was always the handy man of the family and could fix just about anything. Tinkering with small appliances and working with any tool was his specialty.
He met his best friend and love of his life, Robin Grames and they were married on October 8, 1994. Bruce had one goal in his relationship with his bride, and that was to provide her with everything she ever wanted. He was the best husband, brother, son, and man and was there to help wherever it was needed. He was always there to support his family but caring for his wife for 27 years was top priority.
Bruce took a lot of pride in manicuring his lawn and landscape. He would spend time making sure it was just right, but also having a love for nature, you could find him feeding the squirrels that would enter his yard. Other hobbies included fishing and buying scratch off lottery tickets, hoping to win big. Watching crime shows, biographies or learning about history were a few of his favorite past times, while relaxing at home, snuggled up with his fur babies. You could usually find him drinking a beer, snacking on beef jerky, and joking with friends and family with his witty dark sense of humor. His caring nature as well as the laughter he brought to everyone will be dearly missed.
Left to cherish every moment they had with Bruce are his beloved wife, Robin; brother Larry (Linda); sister Tammy (Terry); sisters-in-law, Maryanne, Lisa, Tammy, and Tracy (Neil); 8 nephews and 1 niece. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Gary; and mother-in-law Fran.
A visitation will be held where Bruce worked part time at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home (701 N. Main Street, Walbridge, OH) on Thursday, September 15 from 4-6pm with a service beginning at 6pm to honor Bruce. Memorial gifts can be made to donor’s choice.
