Saturday, April 13th, 2024 Bonnie Louise Badyna (born Buckholz) stepped into the presence of our Lord & Savior unhindered by the weight of this world and free from suffering. Bonnie was born to Raymond & Thelma Buckholz (born Adoline) on February 21st, 1941 in Toledo Ohio. She grew up on Ohio street in Toledo and graduated from Woodward High School class of 1959. She worked at E.M. Balduf Bakery at 1013 Sylvania Ave. in Toledo, Ohio for a brief period and moved on to Ohio Bell where she worked as a switchboard phone operator. She enjoyed roller skating, dancing and bowling when she was younger. She met her sweetheart Richard Dick Badyna at a dance bar during her senior year and they married around 1960. They were happily married for over 55 years before his passing on February 9th, 2016.When her husband fell ill from arthritis and had to go on disability, she stepped up for her family and got a job delivering community flyers and also driving buses for the Toledo Public School System. Bonnie and Dick lived in the Toledo area most of their lives and finally settled in Sylvania, Ohio. They raised three kids: Scott (the oldest), followed by Gina and Wendy. All who went on to have successful lives, children and a relationship with Christ.Bonnies hands were full providing for the family, taking care of her husband while raising three wonderful kids who are all very different. She entertained the kids with Dr. Seuss books and games like Chutes & Ladders, Monopoly and Hi Ho Cherry O when they were growing up.She loved driving her black 1969 Chevy Camaro with silver stripes and also accompanied her husband to countless street rod events where she appreciated the joy and comradery of hanging out with the other car enthusiasts. As Dick and Bonnie got older they spent a lot of time spinning records and line dancing at the Maumee Eagles Club under the DJ name Dancin' Shoes. Over the course of many years that followed she also loved and took care of her pet companion dogs: Pogo, Peaches, Izzy, Elmo & JoJo. Her favorite flowers were azaleas and tulips. She liked bright colors, animal and floral prints on her clothes and she also incorporated them into her home decor. You could find her at Rudys Hot Dog Restaurant, Bill Knapps or Schmuckers when she grabbed a bite to eat. She had a sweet tooth for chocolate luscious cake, but she always watched her weight and encouraged others to live a healthy lifestyle.Perhaps her biggest accomplishment in life was bringing her family into a relationship with Jesus. She attended Little Flower Catholic Church, Church of the Open Bible (nondenominational) and later attended Mayfair Plymouth Congregational Christian Church on Bennett Rd in Toledo. She was saved by grace through faith and she gave her life to Christ in the 1970s thanks to the influence of the Holy Spirit first moving through her sister, Pat and brother-in-law, Tom Packard.Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband Richard Dick Badyna and her younger brother, Fred Buckholz. She is survived by her son, Scott (Karen), her daughter, Gina (Phil) Jablonski and her daughter, Wendy (Kevin) Newsome.
