Billie “Bill” Ervin Fortner went to be with the Lord early Thursday morning, June 4, 2020. He was born in Logan, West Virginia to John S. and Marvel (Kidd) Fortner and graduated from Toledo’s Scott High School. He met Karen Veitch in Toledo and they have been together since February 16, 1969. Bill was a switcher for roadway Trucking 20 years and also an Automotive Technician for Sears before retiring. He loved his family, spoiling his grandchildren, telling stories of spending time with his grandmother and watching westerns on tv. Bill was predeceased by his parents and brother, John F. Fortner. Left to cherish his memory, he leaves his wife of 51 years, Karen, his daughter, Ericka (Noah) Stone; grandchildren, Kiley Stone, Noah Stone; nephews, John (Amy) Fortner, Nathan Sanders, Shawn Sanders and the Veitch boys; great niece and nephew JJ Fortner and Jennifer Fortner and his sisters-in-law, Rosemarie Fortner and Deb (Lee) Sanders. Family and friends with be welcomed in Neville-Shank Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, 2020 with services to begin at 3:30 p.m. Bill will be laid to rest at Springfield Township Cemetery.
