Betty Tresso

Betty Angela Tresso, 83, of Toledo, quietly passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021, in her home surrounded by family after a long battle with dementia. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Steve, Sr. and Elizabeth Tresso; brothers, Robert and Steve Tresso, Jr. She is survived by her beloved lifelong partner of almost 60 years, Patricia Roper; brother and sister-in-law, Francis & Connie Tresso, their children, Stacy Tresso and Stephanie (Tony) Celebrezze and their children (Anthony & Sophia); sister-in-law, Debbie, and her son, William Tresso, pseudo son-in law, Carl J. Peatee and pseudo grandchildren, Carl F. Peatee, and his children (James & Andrew), Angela (Aaron) Murphy (Peatee), their children (Emily, Madeline, & Brendan), Laura (Mark) Ostrander (Peatee) and their children (Mackenzie & Laney). Betty was a lifelong school teacher in the Oregon School System and was one of those “strict” teachers that went out of her way to reward her students for good work. Due to her long career she taught multiple generations within the same family and wherever she went she was sure to be recognized by a former student. She enjoyed traveling with Patricia and the grandchildren on vacations to see many historical sites all around the country. She spent her retirement volunteering with Mobile Meals and as sacristan and a lay communion distributor at St. Charles Hospital as well as spoiling her grandchildren with reading and trips to playgrounds and the zoo. Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 701 N. Main Street, Walbridge, OH (419-666-3121). Visitation will continue in the funeral home on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 9:00 a.m., where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
