Barbara Toensing

Barbara Toensing, age 68 of Toledo, Ohio, passed away August 10, 2010 at Toledo Hospital. She was born in Toledo on March 18, 1942 to Walter and Treva Szymanski. After retiring from Jeep as a computer programmer, Barbara spent her days doing what she loved the most, spending time with her grandchildren. Whether it was a day of shopping or racing to the next sporting event, she never missed a opportunity to watch and cheer on her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rick Walender; daughter, Tracy Walender; sister, Suzy Szymanski. She is survived by her husband, DeWitt Toensing; daughter, Tamara (Mike) Dewey; son, Dave Walender; grandchildren, Tara, Taylor, Marc, Michael Dewey, David, Ashley and Lance Walender; great-granddaughter Katherine Dewey; brother, Butch (Bonnie) Szymanski; niece, Jayme Baldwin; nephew, Gary Szymanski. Visitation for Barbara will be at H.H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Rd 419-473-1301 on Friday, August 13, 2010 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral services will begin on Saturday in the funeral home at 10:30 am and follow with Mass of the Christian Burial at St. Clement Church at 11:00 am.
