Barbara Posadny

Barbara J. Posadny of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 surrounded by her devoted & loving family. She was born in Toledo, OH on January 28, 1941 to the late Paul E. Doty & Thelma (Guthrie) Stecker. Barbara graduated from Whitmer Sr. High School and later received her LPN Degree from N.W. Ohio Practical School of Nursing. Barbara worked as a Pediatric nurse at the Toledo Hospital for 14 years, retiring in 1999. During her earlier years, Barbara enjoyed traveling with her husband Jim, visiting dear friends, spending time at their Florida property & boating aboard the Hi Someshutt along the near & distant shores of Lake Erie. She was a lifetime member of RiverView Yacht Club. Barbara loved boating & fishing, but most of all her family and grandchildren. Her other love was a trip to the casino or a good win at Bingo! She was a beautiful lady, with a wonderful laugh, who always had a stride in her step, a smile for your heart and a grace that could melt the room when she walked in. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, James J. Posadny; parents, Paul E. & Thelma G. (Doty) Stecker, and brother, Richard P. Doty. Barbara is survived by her devoted children, Tina (Keith Dominiak) Wiley, Tracy (Ron) Morrin, Kimberly (Jim) Hetherington and James (Kayte) Posadny; Grandchildren, Kyle, Kayli, Allana, Meredith (Ryan), Adrienne, Michael, Garett, and 1 great grandchild, Ava. Friends are invited to visit from 2:00 pm to 8:00 p.m., Sun., Feb 23rd at H.H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Rd, (at Alexis) followed by funeral services at 11:00 am on Monday, Feb. 24th. Entombment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
