Barbara R. Baker, 80, formerly of Elmore, died April 4, 2022 at Westminster Memory Care, Lexington, S.C. She was born on March 28, 1942 to Clarence (Marian Overmyer) Kuhlman, both of whom preceded her in death. She graduated from Toledo Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed as a RN with labor and delivery for St. Charles Hospital, and then spent many years as a stay at home mother before returning to nursing as an RN for the Lutheran Old Folks Home. Following her retirement from nursing, she enjoyed working for Jan Pugh at Packer Creek Pottery.
There are many words and characteristics that can describe Barbara, but the one word that fits best is kind. Barbara was a kind and caring person who loved her family and enjoyed fifty six years of marriage to her husband and best friend, George. She was the best mother anyone could have and was a devoted grandmother to her three grandchildren, whom she loved dearly and loved spending time with. She was a talented seamstress, quilter, and baker who enjoyed sharing her cooking with friends and family. She loved her church family at Zion Lutheran Church. She had a soft spot for all animals, especially her best canine friend, Charlie.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George. Surviving are her children, Kelley (David) Hill and Michael Baker, grandchildren, Brian (Alex) Hill, Brittnee (Jonathan) Looney, and Brooke (Nate) Williams, great-grandchildren, Emery Looney and Callahan Hill, brother, Bob (Claudene) Kuhlman.
Friends will be received at Zion Lutheran Church, 26535 Pemberville Road, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 from 10:00 A.M. Saturday, April 16, 2022 until the time of the service at 11:00 A.M. Arrangements are by Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, Walbridge, Ohio. Online condolences may be left at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Westminster and Agape Hospice Care for their care for Mom during this time.
